In an official announcement, Mark Zuckenberg’s Meta has brought some positive news for crypto enthusiasts. From now on, Facebook users will be allowed to advertise crypto on the platform.
The company has managed to adapt its criteria by expanding on the number of regulatory licenses from three to twenty-seven.
The decision stems from the world’s changing view on cryptocurrencies, as well as the ever-increasing clarity when it comes to rules and regulations across the industry in plenty of countries.
“We’re doing this because the cryptocurrency landscape has continued to mature and stabilize in recent years and has seen more government regulations that are setting clearer rules for their industry,” states the official announcement.
However, as crypto is a dynamic field that is prone to changes from day to day, the company will still require certain products to go through a written approval. Existing advertisements that were already approved will not be impacted by these changes, though.
The community welcomes this news with open arms, as the crypto reach can broaden once again. According to statistics provided by Hootsuite, Facebook boasts 2.74 billion active users per month and has an overall global reach of 59% of the world’s population.
Crypto enthusiasts and analysts believe that this latest move can propel the value of cryptocurrencies. This is especially good news for Bitcoin that has been struggling over the past week, hitting its latest 7-week low.
