Samsung and SK Telecom have introduced a new Galaxy A Quantum smartphone. It is the first phone in the world to have a quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset. This model is available for pre-order from today and will officially go on sale on May 22 with an price of KRW 649,000 which is approximately $ 530.

The unique chip set called SKT IDQ S2Q000 QRNG was developed by the subsidiary SK Telecom’s Switzerland-based subsidiary ID Quantique. “It generators random numbers through quantum-crypto technology and creates secure keys that cannot be predicted, thus enhancing the security of the device.

  • Samsung Galaxy A Quantum got a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with Full HD, a fingerprint sensor, a camera with a 64MP, and also a 32MP camera on the front.
  • The smartphone is built for Android 10 and is equipped with an Exynos 980 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a microSD card slot.
  • As part of the connection options, it has GPS, 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • The battery has a capacity of 4,500mAh and supports fast 25W charging.

Galaxy A Quantum is exceptional mainly due to its QRNG chipset, which increases the security of using applications such as SK Pay, T ID login, and Initial.
