Adam Aron, the AMC CEO, took to Twitter to announce that the company is starting to accept Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash as a form of payment for ticket purchases. The news comes after several months of hints at such development.

Furthermore, Aron adds that plans are in motion for AMC to implement DogeCoin and Shiba Inu later down the line, with Dogecoin already being accepted as payment for gift cards.

The public response is quite positive, with Aron confirming that 14% of all online purchases already get paid in crypto. Moreover, the Twitter replies suggest that there seems to be high demand for the DogeCoin payment option, as this “joke” cryptocurrency has been on the unexpected rise for quite a while.

Besides cryptocurrencies, AMC has implemented Google Pay, ApplePay, and Paypal support on their online platforms that movie theatre fans are already enjoying.

Thus, the movie theatre giant joins the steadily growing list of companies providing everyday services that started accepting crypto as a form of payment, and the community is thrilled.
