As we informed you at the beginning of April, BANQUE DE FRANCE began to explore the Digital Euro and these days we are receiving news about the next phase of this experiment.
The bank has already published a list of candidates it has selected for experiments in the field of digital currency (CBDC). Each of the applicants first had to send the response to a official call, and after an extensive examination, the bank selected the following candidates:
- Accenture
- Euroclear
- HSBC
- Iznes
- LiquidShare
- ProsperUS
- Seba Bank
- Société Générale – Forge
There has been great interest in the call of reviewing the digital currency and all actors are interested in improving the functioning of financial markets, especially as regards the interbank sector.
BANQUE DE FRANCE also stated that already it will start cooperating with each of the eight candidates in the coming days to carry out thorough experiments.
