Danny Ryan announced today through the official ETH blog about the release of v1.0 of the eth2 specs and showed the launch date.
The Ethereum community is excited about the latest release of version 1.0 of the Ethereum 2.0 specifications, including the mainnet deposit contract address. As part of this report, Danny R. also announces that ETH2 will have MIN_GENESIS_TIME of 1606824000, due out on December 1, 12pm UTC.
Today, we released v1.0 of the eth2 specs, including the mainnet deposit contract address – 0x00000000219ab540356cBB839Cbe05303d7705Fa. eth2 will have a MIN_GENESIS_TIME of 1606824000 (or for those of you who don’t think in unix time – December 1, 2020, 12pm UTC).

To meet this expected date and to start genesis, there must be at least 16384 32-ETH validator deposits 7 days prior to December 1. If this fails, genesis will be started 7 days after this threshold has been met.
Danny also informs about another utility:
As an additional utility, our friends at ENS configured depositcontract.eth to resolve to0x00000000219ab540356cBB839Cbe05303d7705Fa, renewed the domain until 2150, and burned the ownership.
Vitalik Buterin, the founder of ETH, did not hide his enthusiasm for this progress and also shared this announcement on his twitter with the comment “ETH2 deposit contract released.”
