Deutsche Bank, Bank of Ireland + 9 other banks are testing and showing interest in blockchain solutions

Startup Finteum, whose solutions are based on R3's Corda enterprise blockchain, announced that up to 11 banks participated in the trial of FX intraday swap solution.

Among these banks were also known as NatWest, Deutsche Bank, Bank of Ireland, Banca Mediolanum and seven others banks. These banks participated with $14.5 trillion in combined balance sheet values.

While every bank treasury team is focused on controlling costs, efficient optimisation of liquidity buffers is often overlooked by senior management, Brian Nolan, Finteum co-founder

In particular, Finteum wants to help banks with a tool that manages intraday liquidity beyond buffers and payment throttling.

In short, the initial spot exchange and the second reverse exchange happen on the same day which means that the settlement is either on the same day or immediately.
