Google to Allow Cryptocurrency Ads by the End of January

Google had previously revised its advertising policies in December 2023 with plans to do another public revision of its policy on cryptocurrencies and related goods in January 2024. The main purpose of the new policy is to bring more clarity to the parameters and guidelines regarding the promotion of cryptocurrency coin trusts.

Google's revised policy will allow ads to be placed "by advertisers offering cryptocurrency trusts in the United States". On 10 January 2024, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved 11 applications for spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

According to the new policy, from 29 January 2024, ads related to the Bitcoin ETF will appear as Google ads. When targeting ads in any region, google expects all advertisers to comply with local regulations.

Moreover, the crypto analysts are optimistic about potential inflows into the Bitcoin ETF, citing Google's high transaction processing power in search. According to the latest data from DemandSage, Google processes 8.55 billion searches per day.
