MimbleWimble protocol for Litecoin will launch testnet as early in September

David Burkett, developer of a protocol focused at protecting the privacy of the Litecoin cryptocurrency, has published an new implementation plan.

MW protocol focuses mainly on non clear transactions that may compromise the personal data of each user.

The most important facts that David stated on his Litecoin thread:

  • June: Launching mining of valid strings with mw extension blocks
  • July: Initial block download
  • August: DisconnectBlock logic (for chain reorgs)
  • September: Testnet activation logic and launch of the first MimbleWimble testnet

Litecoin founder Charlie Lee is excited about the progress and stated on his twitter:

In addition to the founder, David has also a great support from the LTC community within the project. This is reflected in the regular donations in the form of cryptocurrency LTC which they send him.
