The German luxury car manufacturer Porsche has announced the launch of a nonfungible token project, consisting of 7500 customizable tokenized automobiles.

The NFTs will launch in January, and users will be able to customize various aspects of the cars, including their appearance.

The NFT art pieces revolve around the iconic Porsche 911, designed by 3D artist Patrick Vogel.

Gaming integration is likely with this virtual asset design based on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5.

A sneak preview of the project was presented at the Art Basel conference in Miami on Nov. 30. Owners will be able to use their vehicles in the "virtual world," most likely a metaverse.

Web3 will be a significant part of Porsche's marketing strategy, according to Porsche:

“Digital art is just one aspect of Porsche’s Web3 strategy. The sports car manufacturer is working to integrate the potential of blockchain technology into existing and future processes and solutions.”

A soccer-themed NFT collectible was introduced by Porsche in June 2021 as part of Fanzone. Porsche appears to be taking tokenization more seriously now.

Web3 trademarks will be obtained by BMW

Web3 products and services are trademarked by BMW, a leading luxury car manufacturer.

Mike Kondoudis, USPTO licensed trademark attorney, regularly shares news regarding Web3 trademark applications.

It plans to use its logo on virtual clothing, footwear, headwear, and vehicles, as well as online environments and downloadable games.
