Prysmatic Labs started testing the network on Ethereum 2.0

As Prysmatic Labs stated, a few hours ago they started official testing of the Ethereum 2.0 network called ‘The Topaz Testnet’.

The collaboration between Prysmatic Labs and ETH 2.0 began over two years ago when they started implementing ETH 2.0 with three major milestones: Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond

Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz, and Diamond Milestones

These milestones represented our vision of how we wanted to bring Ethereum to a global scale.” writes Preston Van Loon Co-founder at Prysmatic Labs.

The Topaz test network is unique as it represents the full Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 mainnet configuration. In the previous testnet, Sapphire, we targeted mainnet scale but used smaller 3.2 ETH deposits.

For Topaz, validators are going to have to deposit the full 32 ETH on the Goerli ETH1 testnet to participate. To remain true to our original vision, Diamond represents the mainnet release of Prysm in Ethereum 2.0.” writes Preston Van Loon Co-founder at Prysmatic Labs.

The Topaz test network now accepts genesis deposits, will start rejects Sapphire validators, and begins sending new genesis deposits. If you are interested in becoming be a Genesis Validator, you can submit your deposit before 00:00 UTC April 16, 2020. At this time, Prysmatic Labs will begin sending deposits to start network testing.
