According to the Bitmain blog, company decided to release firmware to activate Overt AsicBoost in BM1387-based Antminer models. In one week it plans release firmware also in other BM1387-based models namely the Antminer R4, S9i, S9j, T9 and T9+. Bitmain’s AsicBoost is supported on both minning pools BTC.COM and Antpool.
According to the famous crypto blogger WhalePanda Bitmain did it 3 days after Braiins released a blogpost about S9’s ASICBoost functionality which has Slush as default pool. Potentially allowing miners to save about 13 % of energy costs.
