The population of cryptocurrencies is on a really upward trend when it managed to increase by more than 100 million in 2021 alone.
The data, which monitored all the most popular exchanges and their user base (with the exception of Coinbase), was provided by crypto.com in its latest market size report.
One of the most interesting findings is the development of users and thus the global crypto market size in 2021, which recorded an enormous increase.
As you can see in the graph, the crypto population has grown continuously since the beginning of the year every month with a significant influx of new users in the month of May, when there were more than 200M of us worldwide. Growth continued with a June peak of 221M.
If we look at the percentage increase, the month of May was really a turning point when the crypto population increased by up to 43.1% during the month. Another interesting thing is also a comparison of the situation from last year, when it took up to nine months before we managed to reach 100M from the beginning of monitoring at the level of 65M.
